Several arts organizations exist to connect artists, and to support and serve diverse arts and expressions.
Many not-for-profit professional associations offer discounted student memberships, as well as career advice, networking opportunities (yes, even artists need to do some networking to land the next gig!), scholarships, and continuing education workshops.
Other arts-oriented organizations, such as Americans for the Arts, advocate in government on behalf of the arts and artists, increase visibility for artists via community arts education programs, and provide business services for artists -- from marketing to consulting.
Some major art organizations include:
Allied Artists of America, Inc.
American Color Print Society (ACPS)
American Society for Aesthetics
American Society of Portrait Artists

National Association of Independent Artists (NAIA)
